We’ve hit crunch time, as far as Thanksgiving is concerned, so rather than leave you with a recipe that you no longer have time to make, I thought I’d give you a peak at the President’s Thanksgiving menu this year. Of all the press releases I receive from the White House, I always take the most pleasure in reading the menus for heads of state and holidays.
So what do you think? Is it me, or does the gazpacho seem a little out of place with what otherwise is a pretty traditional menu? How does your Thanksgiving menu compare??

I also love to read The White House menus. But you’re right about this one, “One of these things is not like the other…” Besides, I don’t think I understand “Morelia Style Gazpacho with Spinach Salad”. Seems to me they would be separate things so why are they combined? (Spinach with soup on top?) Very confused.

Happy Thanksgiving! I guess they wanted a soup course, but didn’t want to overdo the other flavors (i.e., yet another pumpkin soup, blah blah

Have you read the book All the President’s Pastries? It’s a memoir written by a man who was the White House’s pastry chef for 25 years (from Carter through Bush Sr). Sounds like something you’d like.
My Thanksgiving menu was a bit unusual this year– I was in London having yummy Indian food!

the gazpacho is ok
it’s the fresh fruit platter that’s out of place!
but really, it’s a beautiful and traditional menu… all around. if just a tad boring…
